How we research & update

Honest about our process: official sources for legal fees and rules, named third-party sources for cost ranges, automated checks before publishing, and corrections when readers flag them.

Where our information comes from

Legal fees, timelines and rules come from primary sources — the Our Marriage Journey portal (marriage.gov.sg), the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and, for Muslim marriages, the Registry of Muslim Marriages and MUIS. Cultural and heritage information is drawn from the National Library Board and National Heritage Board (Roots.gov.sg). Each page shows its sources and the date the figure or rule was valid.

How we handle cost ranges

Singapore vendor and venue prices change often and are not published by any single official body. We quote ranges from named third-party sources (for example banquet price lists and vendor directories), always labelled "approximate, as of" with the source named. We do not present a single vendor's quote as a guaranteed price, and we do not invent figures.

How pages are produced

Our content is produced by an automated research-and-writing pipeline and reviewed by automated checks (source presence, figure formatting, internal-link validity, length limits) before publishing. We are telling you this plainly: a human does not hand-review every single page. We do not publish a figure that is not tied to a cited source.

How often we update

ROM/ROMM fees and rules are reviewed when the rule changes. Cost ranges are reviewed at least quarterly. The "Updated" date on each page reflects its last change.

Corrections
